I always loved fashion and how people dress, and I was interested in shopping too. I was thinking about my career and I made a decision that fashion is what I like the most. I realized that hotel management was not my course; therefore, I switched to the course that I like which is fashion. I did some research on the internet and came across VCAD. I’ve learned a lot about what to expect, which was very good.
I like classic looks and also I love Alexander McKimm’s crazy looks.
My collection is about nightmare mixed with the Asian looks – really dark, but kind of unisex. I always wanted to make that kind of collection and I think that it was the only time to do what I wanted to do. So I did it.

Here is what one of the fashion design program grads says about VCAD:
“The instructors make sure that I understand the class material and make it clear on what is expected of me to succeed. The instructors are friendly yet business oriented. Some of the instructors are in the industry, which makes them very resourceful for the students. My experience on campus has been very nice. The staff is always nice and helpful.”

VCAD’s Fashion Design program gives structure to your creativity while providing hands-on training from industry professionals. Students gain an in-depth understanding about the tools and equipment used in the industry. Topics covered include garment, accessory and apparel design, fashion merchandising, fashion shows, and more.
By the end of the program, students have created a strong portfolio with which to apply for fashion industry jobs such as stylists, junior designers, pattern makers, marketing representatives, or visual display coordinators and purchasers.

The VCAD #ONwards Fashion Show is a way for the college to continue to support alumni who are pursuing fashion design as their career. Many of our grads have gone on to start their own line and had success in selling their collections to boutiques in the lower mainland. We want to continue supporting our alumni and the best way we know how is through our annual VCAD fashion show! Come check out the looks from each of our VCAD designers!
